The Diamonds of Canada
It is said the sparkle from canadian diamond rings mimics the eerie and enchanting radiance of the Northern Lights. This is a bit of a romantic notion as it is actually the cut of the diamond, not its national identity that makes it twinkle like a Northern star. Still Canadian diamonds are among the whitest in the world. Thanks to stringent government regulations in the Northwest Territories they are also extremely high quality. This Canadian reputation for integrity means that canadian diamond rings are competing well in the gem stone jewelry market.
Canadian diamonds are also quite special because they have only been around about thirty years. Prior to their discovery in Canada’s Artic north in 1985, the finest quality diamonds were sourced from South Africa. This monopoly was put to an end when two Canadian geologists, Charles Fipke and his partner Stuart Blusson discovered a large vein of Kimberlite near Lac De Gras in the Yukon, Canada. This

The Diamonds of Canada
The last Northern gold rush occurred in the late-19th century in the Yukon when tens of thousands of prospectors made their way to Dawson City to find their fortunes. Since then, miners and oil workers have continued to seek wealth in the North. In the past decade, history has repeated itself with the discovery of diamonds in Canada’s North.
Diamond exploration in Canada began in the 1960s, but major discoveries of diamond-bearing kimberlite ore did not occur until the 1990s. With the discovery of diamonds in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut in 1991, Canada has risen to become one of the top three diamond producers in the world in terms of value, behind Botswana and Russia. Currently, Canada produces 15% of the world’s diamonds. According to Statistics Canada, 13.8 million carats of diamonds worth approximately .8 billion have been mined in Canada between 1998 and 2002. To put it in perspective, each day Canada produces one 1.5 kilogram bag of

2008 Canadian listeriosis outbreak
Origin and spread
Listeria monocytogenes, the bacterium responsible for listeriosis
Listeriosis is an infection caused by the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes. The outbreak originated from lines 8 and 9 of the Maple Leaf Foods Bartor Road facility (Establishment No. 97B) in North York, Ontario, a neighbourhood of Toronto. There were about 220 possibly contaminated products, each stamped with the code “97B” near the “Best before” date. Since the bacteria travelled through deli meats, which are cooked (and as a result are usually free of pathogens), the contamination likely occurred during packaging. The outbreak was first noticed in July when regular surveillance detected an increase in cases reported. Federal inspectors usually spent less than 2 hours a day at the plant in the months before the outbreak of the illness, sometimes as little as 15 minutes.
Response from Maple Leaf Foods
Maple Leaf Foods had instated a voluntary recall before the

The compound microscope can go beyond magnifying life’s secrets – it can foster a new generation of scientific gurus.

At the time, it was a great wonder to inspect an ant ten times its actual dimension. Not anymore. The improvements made on the antiquated microscope yielded magnification much larger that the pithy early magnification. An ant can now be magnified up to 10,000 and more.

budurl.com Watch Toronto Maple Leafs VS New Jersey Devils Live Full Game or Highlights at budurl.com 05/02/2010 Three games in eight days against the Toronto Maple Leafs figured to give the New Jersey Devils a good chance to emerge from a mediocre stretch. After winning the first one, New Jersey faced a much different Maple Leafs team. Based on that first impression, it’s also a much better one. Dion Phaneuf and Jean-Sebastien Giguere keyed a win over the Devils in their Toronto debuts, and they’ll look to help the Maple Leafs sweep a home-and-home series that concludes Friday night at the Prudential Center. Toronto (18-28-11) had lost six straight and 11 of 13 when general manager Brian Burke made two moves designed to shake up his last-place club Sunday. Phaneuf, acquired from Calgary in a seven-player deal, and Giguere, who came over from Anaheim for Vesa Toskala and Jason Blake, were seen as building blocks as recently as two years ago but had fallen out of favor with their clubs.

Planet Baseball
For a hundred years, international baseball has contributed some very rich, and very diverse history to the world. To honor these contributions, The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York, opened the exhibit “Planet Baseball.”

Decorating a Boy’s Bedroom
There are quite a few options out there for you to choose from when looking for Boys Bedding. When looking for boys’ room décor, it’s a good idea to look online. Not only can you find boy bedding ideas but you can shop online as well.
A boy’s bedroom often represents his personality. It truly is his territory and quiet place in the world and if you design it in a way that makes him happy he’ll not only enjoy being there but he might even keep it clean. Give him some input and you can find he’s much more interested and invested in the process. Although no one can make a magic anything that will make a boy want to clean his room, purchasing new items for it for the purpose of redecorating can definitely help change his attitude about tidiness for a little while, at least.
If a young or teenaged boy is interested in a specific sport or hobby they will want that

Canada’s Provinces, Territories, Cities
What makes Quebec special?
Quebec has a rich and long history spanning five centuries. In 1534, Jacques Cartier, under an expedition sent by King Francis I, landed in Gaspe and claimed the lands for France. The Algonkian, Iroquoian, and Inuit natives initially populated the Quebec area, but Quebec City was not officially founded until 1603 by Samuel de Champlain. This region was governed as a French Royal Province and was known as New France. However, when the French were defeated in the French-Indian War, France’s agreement in the 1763 Treaty of Paris gave its provinces in North American to Great Britain. Thus, New France became the Province of Quebec.
Today, Quebec’s official language is still French, and it is the only province in Canada that is populated by a majority of French Canadians. French, not English, is spoken as the main language in the province. Quebec has also grown to be the largest province in Canada,
