Visit Canada

A land of vast lengths and rich natural resources, Canada turned a self-governing dominion in 1867 whilst holding ties to the British crown. Economically & technologically the country has developed in parallel sustaining the US, its neighbor to the south diameter an unfortified edge.

Canada is the world’s second-biggest country by total region, occupying most of northern North America. Extending given by the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean & northward into the Arctic Ocean, Canada shares land borders by having the United States to the south & to the northwest.

Inhabited first by Aboriginal peoples, Canada was founded as a union of British settlements, occasionally of which one had been French settlements. Canada gained independence derived from the United Kingdom in an incremental process that began in 1867 and ended in 1982.

Mike Weir inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame

Mike Weir was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame on Saturday night at Huron Oaks, the course where the left-hander fell in love with the game.

“It’s special to do it here,” said Weir, the 2003 Masters champion. “I see a lot of family and friends. Obviously, it’s kind of where I grew up and where it all began for me. I feel good. It’s a great night.”

Mike Weir tied for second place at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio this past weekend. The former Masters champion is starting to find his game as he prepares for next week’s challenging U.S. Open. Weir shot 71 on the final day (one-under-par) finishing the tournament at -6, which was two strokes back of third-time winner Kenny Perry. His course-management skill, exceptional short game, and accurate putting defined his 2003 Masters win and were apparent in his play this weekend. Weir will be in need of these assets, as well as more quality shots, to have any success at the coming U.S.

City of Toronto in Canada, whose name in the language of the Huron means “meeting place”, performs functions of the brand of Canada, concurrently playing the role of the heart in a huge Canadian organism. Toronto is the most popular and the most lively city in Canada: most of emigrants come here, also here student, scientific, cultural and sporting activities seethe. However the city is not the capital of Canada. Being in the capital’s status twice (1849-1852 and 1856-1858) it yielded precedence to Quebec and Ottawa and now remains the capital of the province of Ontario and the economic center of Canada.

Here in Canada, on the shores of Lake Ontario, the highest TV tower in the world like a defiant spire pierces the heavens, a flag with a red maple leaf hovers above every second house, and there is a real castle in the Spanish style on the hill. Little emerald green snakes

Toronto Eaton Centre

History

The various Eaton’s buildings at Yonge and Queen Streets in 1920, demonstrating the Eaton’s landholdings on the current site of the Toronto Eaton Centre.

Timothy Eaton founded a dry goods store on Yonge Street in the 19th century, and that small shop went on to revolutionize retailing in Canada, ultimately becoming the largest department store chain in the country. By the 20th century, the Eaton’s chain owned most of the land bounded by Yonge, Queen, Bay and Dundas streets, with the notable exceptions of Old City Hall and the Church of the Holy Trinity. The Eaton’s land, once the site of Timothy Eaton’s first store, was occupied by Eaton’s large Main Store, the Eaton’s Annex and a number of related mail order and factory buildings. As the chain’s warehouse and support operations were increasingly shifting to cheaper suburban locales in the 1960s, Eaton’s wanted to make better use of its valuable downtown landholdings. In particular, the chain wanted

Summer Things to Do in Toronto

There is a multitude of summer things to do in Toronto. The city is located in the province of Ontario, one of the well-known travel destinations in Canada, and is certainly the most visited city in the province. Toronto is full of vibrant and multicultural attractions that are waiting for you to discover.

Kick off your vacation at the Canadian National Tower, more popularly known as the CN Tower. The tower has three different observation levels – the Look Out Level, the Sky Pod and the Glass Floor – that allow you to have a bird’s eye view of Toronto and, with the nice summer weather, the distant Niagara Falls. There are other things you can find within the CN Tower that are well worth stopping for. The tower’s arcade is a sure hit to the kids, with its state-of-the-art interactive games. Equally interesting for the kids is the fairly new ride-film, Himalamazon. If you are an engineer, an architect or simply just interested in the CN’s concept and

Saving on Extended Stays in Toronto’s Corporate Suites

Everyone from entertainers to engineers who travel as part of their work has a need for comfortable quarters, more of a home away from home than a busy hotel when they plan to stay for more than a few weeks in one city. The growing number of corporate accommodations companies can offer furnished apartments, condos, houses, and lofts to cater to all who want more space in the select part of town that suits their tastes.

The industry thrives in large cities where most business is conducted. In a destination such as Toronto corporate housing units can be rented in the Theatre District downtown, the Beaches, Little Italy, or somewhere in the suburbs. Thousands of high-quality restaurants entice diners and they fill up quickly. There are small little-known restaurants like Lee Garden in Chinatown where there are large round tables in a small room. It’s hard to get in and the food is so good that the customers want to stay to order more of the coconut soup desert
