The fans at Air Canada Centre will be treated to a game between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs when they take their seats on Tuesday night at 7:00pm EST in a game that can be seen on NESN and RSNO television. NHL odds makers have the Bruins listed as 120-moneyline betting favorites against the Maple Leafs while the game’s total is sitting at 5 OVER -140. The Bruins lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 as a +145 underdog in NHL betting odds on Sunday. The three goals scored fell UNDER the posted over/under total of 5.5 at online sportsbooks.

Blake Wheeler scored the Bruins only goal and Tom Thomas made 31 saves as Boston ended their 5 game road winning streak. There was a bit of controversy as the Bruins played without Marc Savard after suffering a concussion in the third period from being struck in the head by the Penguins Matt Cooke. “It’s pretty obvious that was definitely a dirty hit,” said Bruins coach Claude Julien after the

Catch Some Hotshots on Ice With Hockey Tickets

Hockey tickets are one of the most popular stocking stuffers of the holiday season. Once the snow starts to fall, it means that it’s time to strap on the skates and hit the ice for some hockey, one of the most popular sports in the country.

Once Upon A Time In Canada

The actual beginnings of ice hockey have been traced back to the 17th century. But professional ice hockey as we know it today was started in Montreal, Canada in 1875. A number of students from McGill University officially codified the rules and the game caught on like wildfire. In just a few years, the first world championships were held and the oldest hockey rivalries were born. In 1893, the first Stanley Cup was awarded.

Though the National Hockey League would be active in both America and Canada, it was the latter country that seemed to have more of an affinity for the game and a higher demand for hockey tickets. This may be due to the fact that

The Love Guru

The Love Guru

Forget animated characters, Mike Myers is back in his first original role since Austin Powers and he doesn’t disappoint. The Love Guru is a thinly veiled homage to Deepak Chopra, focusing on the travails of one guru who has to break a curse, reunite a couple and get a hockey team to the Stanley Cup. That’s no small order, but you can expect hilarious hi-jinks to ensue.

Mike Myers doesn’t miss a step in this comedy that centers around the star player of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Darren Roanoake, played to perfection by Romany Malco. Roanoke’s wife is lured away by the star player of the LA Kings, Jacques Grand (Justin Timberlake) and it’s up to the Love Guru to restore domestic harmony to get Malco back on his game.

With a cast that includes Jessica Alba and Ben Kingsley, it’s hard to go wrong. Myers penned the original story with Graham Gordy and co-produces with Michael deLuca. It’s been a tough road for Myers

Nhl 2008-09 Western Conference Preview

The Detroit Red Wings ran away from the pack last season to again win the President’s trophy and followed up with a Cup win. The power is clearly in the West in the NHL. Here is how the West shapes up heading into the 2008-09 campaign

The Division Winners:

1. Detroit Red Wings – The defending cup champions win the Central, the West, and the Presidents Trophy again. As hard as it is to believe, the Wings actually got better this summer acquiring prize free agent Marian Hossa. Ty Conklin was also added to back up starting goalie Chris Osgood. The only notable loss from the Cup winning team is future hall of famer Dominik Hasek, who was relegated to back up duty last season. The Wings will be led by Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk with Nicklas Lidstrom providing support from the blue line. The supporting cast is as good as any team in history. The Stanley Cup hangover, the Pacific powerhouses and aging stars

City Break to Toronto

Experiencing Toronto city breaks is more than just about climbing the CN Tower, watching a Blue Jays baseball game in the Rogers Centre, catching a Toronto Maple Leafs or Toronto Raptors game at the Air Canada Centre, visiting Canada’s Hockey Hall of Fame or making the trek to Niagara Falls. The best part of Toronto is its eclectic mix of cultures, peoples, foods, shops, music, events and festivals. Toronto is one of the safest cities in North America when it comes to crime rates. Much of this has to do with the city’s stringent policies regarding gun laws but, regardless, the low incidence of crime is even more remarkable when one considers how diverse the population of Toronto is. No one nationality is dominant in Toronto, though people of European descent (British, Irish, and the like) make up just over half of the population. Nearly a quarter of Toronto is made up of Chinese and South Asian people, and the fact of the matter is that Toronto is incredibly diverse
